We loved Lake Sambel Caravan Park the moment we saw it.

Located right on the lake the park was perfect. Really friendly owners that helped everyone park their vans, beautiful views, clean amenities (I was so surprised at how nice the womens was!) good playground, volleyball court and mini golf. It had everything you’d want.

After we’d finished setting up, the owner came around to drop off some wood. Eddie was in ore of his ATV, so much so he got taken for a little ride around the park! To say that was his new highlight was an understatement. Eddie isn’t often lost for words but he was this time! After he’d rocovered we went for a stroll around the park to check it out. The owners have set up the cutest fairy garden and Eddie was stoked.

The park backs on to a walk to Lake Kerferd. Which was unfortunately closed due to unsafe tracks (there’s loads of mines). But we were able to do a little loop around crossing the small creek that runs along the back of the park.

The Beechworth Gorge drive was unexpectedly beautiful. I couldn’t believe it. You can walk it but not with a baby and a toddler so we opted to drive. We parked just over the bridge (can only fit about 2-3 cars) and spent about 1/2 hour here – should of take my togs- before we finished the drive to the end where the waterfall is located.

We went for a bit of a drive through the Beechworth Historic Park and there was a few good spots to stop and swim. Eddie loved the big puddles that Ben zoomed through.

Harvey had his first birthday in the van – we can tell he will be on the move soon…. he cant keep still. He sleeps on most of our outings (loves a drive) so it was good to chill at the park and celebrate him.

We did the Beechworth Goal tour and the boys were excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a few laughs. Due to COVID we couldnt go into any of the cells but still spent over an hour here.

Oh! almost forgot to mention the Lake. It was a beautiful and fairly easy walk around the whole lake. You would need a carrier if you had a baby but only on the left side, as there are many steps. If you follow the right side, you can go to a good playground then continue the walk to the main street. Eddie managed the whole lake (just over 2km).
