We absolutely adore our visits to Warnambool! There are countless reasons why this place has captured our hearts. Firstly, the playgrounds in Warnambool are simply awesome. They offer a variety of play areas that come together to form a mega playground. (Although it’s important to note that it’s not dog friendly, which was a bit disappointing for us.) Nonetheless, the slide and flying fox in this playground are absolutely epic, and even Sarha couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. Despite being an 31 years old, she’s still a kid at heart!

Another incredible attraction in Warnambool is the opportunity to witness whales during season. We highly recommend planning your visit accordingly to experience this breathtaking sight. There’s a dedicated whale watching platform where you can observe the whale nursery, witnessing mother whales teaching their little ones essential skills like tail slapping. However, we were incredibly fortunate to spot them right in front of the surf club! It was a truly memorable experience.

For a relaxing and romantic couple of hours, the Deep Blue Hotel and Hot Springs in Warnambool are ideal. Although we enjoyed our child-free time there, it’s worth mentioning that they do have specific adult-only time slots in the afternoon, ensuring a truly serene environment. The hot springs make for a perfect date, soaking in the warm waters was incredibly rejuvenating.

Warnambool also offers convenient access to the Great Ocean Road, allowing you to explore the breathtaking coastal scenery of the region. Additionally, the town itself boasts decent shopping options and a variety of delightful food establishments. Rain or shine, we have always found plenty to keep ourselves busy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lastly, we must mention the fantastic butcher in Warnambool. We had such a positive experience there that we even wrote a blog post about it here. The quality of their products truly impressed us, and thats saying something come from Ben the carnivore!

If you have the time, we recommend venturing beyond Warnambool to visit Port Fairy (read about our stay there in our blog) and the thrilling Yumbuk slide. These nearby attractions offer even more to explore and enjoy.

Warnambool has truly captured our hearts, and we can’t wait for our next visit to this incredible destination!
